AAEON Releases NanoCOM-CV Rev.A COM Express Type 1 Module for Thermal Critical and Computing Intensive Designs2013-01-07
AAEON released today the new NanoCOM-CV Rev.A COM Express Type 1 module with low-power BGA type Intel® Atom™ N2600 1.6GHz Dual Core processor. Complimented by the low-power Intel® NM10 chipset, the NanoCOM-CV Rev.A module boasts wider temperature tolerance and better performance, making it suitable for small form factor designs in thermal critical applications such as parking systems and home automation or computing intensive applications in the medical, gaming and industrial automation industry. A wide-temperature version for harsh environments is available upon request.
The NanoCOM-CV Rev.A module measures at 84mm x 55mm and packs 2GB DDR3 memory onboard. The expansion interface includes three PCI Express [x1], one SMBus and one LPC bus to connect to legacy I/O interfaces. Eight USB2.0 support, two SATA 3.0Gb/s interfaces with optional upgrade to 4GB SATA SSD, one Gigabit Ethernet, one 18-bit single channel LVDS and CRT/LCD simultaneous/dual view display capability, High Definition Audio and 8-bit programmable GPIO are just some of the great features available on this small computer module.
“The NanoCOM-CV Rev.A module is a board with extensive features small enough to embed into many portable devices or products with space limitations. With our fast and responsive design services, AAEON is able to enable all functions on the customer’s carrier board or offer customers customized boards able to harness the rich functionalities of the NanoCOM-CV Rev.A,” said Ian Lin, Product Manager of AAEON’s Computer-on-Module division. “With the processor TDP at only 3.5W, thermal designs are easily resolved, making the device more stable under harsh environments”, Ian adds. A matching MicroATX carrier board, the TF-ECB-916M-B11-01 is available for COM Express Type 1 modules upon request, for fast implementation and evaluation purposes.
Whenever Microsoft® Windows® platform is used, customers can easily create their own user interface without additional coding, simply by downloading the AAEON-developed Hi-Safe program. AAEON offers customization services for system developers, and supports all common operating systems such as Windows® XP, Windows® 7/8 and Linux Fedora.
Status Monitoring using Hi-Safe
AAEON Hi-Safe is a free and powerful hardware-based program geared toward SDKs for UIs running Microsoft® Windows® Operating systems. It provides an easy way to develop the end user’s own UI software to monitor vital system information such as those for the processor, RAM and VGA. It monitors received data from the Super I/O, fan, temperature and voltage, offers configuration options for Digital I/O pin direction and data, provides watchdog timer and fan speed settings, SMBus base address detection and device ID settings, optional monitoring of UPS data information and offers two modes for backlight display control if one uses the LVDS interface. Based on the user interface SDK, no coding is needed and customers can create their own customized user interface by downloading the function codes provided by AAEON.
